About the position

As an emergency medicine specialist, you will play a key role in the emergency department and contribute to high-quality patient care in a busy and varied clinical environment. The role combines clinical responsibilities with supervision, collaboration, and service development.

Typical responsibilities

Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acutely ill and injured patients

Clinical leadership in the emergency department in collaboration with other specialists

Management of both medical emergencies and trauma cases in adults, and in some departments also children

Supervision and follow-up of patients in observation units where available

Supervision and guidance of doctors in training, interns and other healthcare professionals

Multidisciplinary collaboration with nurses, radiographers, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals

Contributing to patient safety initiatives, quality improvement and professional development within the department

Participation in emergency preparedness and management of major incidents when required
