Head of IT Portfolio and Project Management Office

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Head of IT Portfolio & Project Management Office (PPMO) to join our VR IT team in Helsinki.

In this key role, you will lead a centralised team responsible for IT portfolio management, project governance, and the PPMO function that supports VR IT and also entire VR. You will set the direction for how IT initiatives are prioritised, governed, and delivered and ensure that projects are aligned with business strategy and IT architecture. You will guide VR IT through transformation by establishing clear investment decisions, standardised ways of working, and strong project-management maturity.

Main responsibilities include:

Define and maintain the IT portfolio management model

Establish and maintain the PPMO toolset, templates and way of working, including portfolio management tools, reporting, data quality practices and ensure consistent data for decision making.

Facilitate portfolio alignment with business strategy, translating business objectives into a prioritised demand and investment plan.

Run portfolio governance meetings (steering groups, portfolio reviews), and recommend go/no go and reprioritisation decisions.

Monitor portfolio health, value, and risk, and report KPIs (on time delivery, budget, benefits, risk exposure) to leadership.
