About this role

Join Nanocomp as a Chemist in Lehmo, Finland, working with advanced UV-curable materials and micro- and nano-structured optical solutions for next-generation display applications. You will contribute to the development of light guide, light management and microlens array (MLA) films using roll-to-roll and roll-to-plate manufacturing processes. Apply by April 30, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will participate in R&D and customer projects related to Nanocomp’s optical materials and products.
  • You will design, synthesize, and characterize new material systems for light guide, light management and MLA film applications. Additionally, you will formulate, optimize, and test UV-curable resins, coatings, and functional materials compatible with R2R and R2P manufacturing processes.
  • You will perform material characterization, including optical, mechanical, and reliability testing. You will also work closely with lithography, process development, production, and international customer teams.
  • Furthermore, you will support scale-up activities, documentation, and the transfer of developed materials into production.

Requirements

  • PhD/MSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar
  • Background in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, or materials chemistry
  • Typically 2–5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with UV-curable materials is considered an advantage
  • Hands-on, problem-solving, and proactive working style
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Fluent English and good communication skills
