Job Description

The Position

Our Team is looking for a Data Scientist with computer vision experience. We support various business areas – research and development, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and animal monitoring – through data science and AI delivery. This role allows you to work on impactful data science products and collaborate with other data scientists and AI engineers, building a community that learns, challenges, and inspires each other. Our team is shaping the Data Science and AI strategy, serves as a DS and AI community facilitator and helps non-technical colleagues to mature their understanding of DS and AI.

You will have the opportunity to apply and further develop your data science skills while solving a wide range of real‑world business challenges, with strong opportunities for growth and learning from senior experts. This role focuses on delivering end‑to‑end computer vision (CV) and data science solutions, from concept to production, as well as evaluating and integrating state‑of‑the‑art off‑the‑shelf solutions to meet business needs.

What will you do?

End‑to‑end delivery of computer vision solutions (classical CV & deep learning), from research and prototyping to production deployment.

Write efficient and maintainable Python code following best practices in software engineering to implement CV solutions.

Build and maintain robust, scalable vision pipelines. Participate in establishing best practices in tooling and infrastructure.

Provide precise and timely communication (both verbal and written) while collaborating with diverse stakeholders and other colleagues.

Assess the output of analytical solution and interpret data to draw conclusions, identify options, and provide recommendations to stakeholders.

Understand the context behind business decisions.

Recognize repeatable situations and suggest the appropriate level of automation.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required

2+ years of experience in Computer Vision / Machine Learning or PhD.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Strong programming skills in Python.

Familiarity with CV and deep-learning libraries such as PyTorch, OpenCV or Open3D.

Passion for advanced algorithms and good quality code.

Extensive knowledge in one or more of the following areas: computer vision, machine learning, and software development; experience or interest in computational biology or life‑science domains is a plus.

Familiarity with statistical models and their application for data analysis.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to work with imperfect visual data (noise, occlusion, class imbalance, domain shift) and to interpret and use the analytics results within the real business context.

Experience with version controls systems and collaboration tools (e.g., Git, Jira).

Experience and/or ability to quickly learn new tools (like e.g., Databricks).

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a globally dispersed team.

MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Cell Biology, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or other related fields.
