We are looking for an innovative and experienced SAFe Scrum Master to join our Spain Domestic IT Team.

Scrum Masters primary focus is on helping to create an environment where the Spain IT Scrum Teams can deliver high quality software with “one team” approach.

Serves as the “servant leader” of the Scrum team by removing impediments and helping the team remain successful and on schedule. Must have a sufficient understanding of technology to enable them to lead team members and help them overcome their development roadblocks; they must also understand business strategy and objectives and be able to ensure that development work is prioritized by business value and results align with objectives. The incumbent provides expert content/professional leadership on complex assignments/projects. Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives. Uses deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders. Focuses on providing thought leadership but works on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert on Scrum.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Scrum Ceremonies –

You will be responsible for ensuring that all scrum teams adhere to all agile ceremonies (Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review/Demo, Retrospectives) and follows all IM work standards. This includes but not limited to:

Anticipate risks/issues/dependencies that can have a negative impact to the status of the project and escalate to the appropriate release train engineer

Understanding the Accountability and Responsibility of all members of their teams and ensuring capacity is not exceeded

Optimizing the flow of work within and across teams

Driving cross team planning, collaboration, and coordination

Have the right amount of technical context to speak the team’s language to understand technical dependencies

Blending Lean-Agile methods based on their team's unique needs, to allow the scrum team to adapt to changes in their delivery ecosystem

Provide regular and open communication across the program and stakeholders for transparency and awareness of progress and impediments

Implementing SAFe Principles

As part of the “Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)”, the Scrum Master needs to help align multiple teams toward a common product goal, which is crucial in large organizations where agility needs to scale across departments or units.

Assist in “Program Increment (PI) Planning”: Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and teams to ensure goals across the program align and are achievable.

Guide the team through “iterations” (sprints) to produce regular, incremental value.

Agile Focus

Teach, mentor, and coach teams, on emerging Agile and Lean methods

Utilizes feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and partners with Agile leadership and delivery experts to coach and continuously improve scrum team

Coach scrum team to improve collaboration and self-organization

Act as an Agile mentor/coach to any Agile role or stakeholder

Agile and Technical Learning: Actively seek and lead a variety of learning opportunities such as Communities of Practice, conferences, classroom training, and independent study to further develop self and community

Metrics and Reporting

Track team progress with metrics like velocity, burn-down charts, and team capacity.

Provide regular updates to stakeholders and management on team performance and potential risks.

Fostering a Culture of Continuous Improvement

Drive the team towards continuous improvement by promoting feedback loops, process optimization, and ensuring that retrospectives lead to actionable changes.

Introduce techniques such as **Lean**, **Kanban**, … when appropriate to further improve the team’s performance.

Experience Required:

5 to 10 Years of experience

Required Skills & Experience

Fluent in Spanish & English

5 to 10 Years Extensive experience as a Scrum Master working in an enterprise level organization.

Excellent core IT Agile delivery skills

Experience in a Scrum Master role for at least two years in a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices and theory.

Experience / working knowledge of SAFe practices.

Experience in working with multiple Scrum Teams is a plus.

Experience maintaining ART and Backlogs with JIRA mentoring PO’s to keep needed information with the right level of information.

Prior experience with project delivery of large integrated projects, business process management or commercial software, large data conversion projects, and/or legacy replacement projects

Demonstrated and applied experience initiating and successfully delivering complex projects

Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking skills

Proven ability to present and communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally

Agile techniques: User Stories, Agile Games.

Knowledge of other agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.

Additional Skills:

Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team (Java, Salesforce,  SmartComms…).

Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).

Previous experience as a team lead.

Excellent communication and mentoring skills

Education and Training Required

:

CSM (Certified Scrum Master)

SSM (Certified SAFe Scrum Master)

Second level Scrum Master Certification (CSP, PSM II)

Experience Desired:

Experience in a Scrum Master role for at least two years in a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices and theory.

Experience / working knowledge of SAFe practices.

Experience in working with multiple Scrum Teams is a plus
