What You’ll Do as  Finance Manager – Op Ex   In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:    Lead Op Ex financial management & period-end close – Oversee preparation and analysis of financial/management accounts, manage accruals, prepayments, reclasses, allocations, maintain robust reconciliations, and ensure timely, accurate close including daily group close catchups and ABF periodic reporting submissions.  Deliver high‑quality performance reporting – Produce clear management reports with bridges, variance analysis (tracker/budget/forecast), driver‑based insights, weekly financial performance tracking, and maintenance of Risks & Opportunities logs with appropriate documentation and escalation.  Strengthen cost governance & allocation methodologies – Enhance and maintain transparent cost allocation models across stores, cost centres, projects, and markets, ensuring strong rationale, audit trails, and accurate cost-to-serve insights by channel/region.  Ensure financial compliance & audit readiness – Uphold IFRS/US GAAP standards (as relevant), SOX/ICFR requirements, internal policy adherence, and act as key liaison for internal/external audits, including leadership of statutory accounts preparation for international entities.  Act as strategic finance partner for key departments – Serve as the main point of contact for Store Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, Facilities, and Technology teams on all Op Ex matters, driving strong stakeholder relationships, performance challenge, and effective cost management.  Provide team leadership & operational excellence – Manage and develop direct reports (including Mumbai-based team members), drive continuous improvement, enhance systems/process integration, support projects as required, and operate confidently and responsibly in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Bring   Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:   Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CPA or equivalent) with 5+ years post-qualification experience, ideally gained through a Big 4 background combined with strong industry experience.  Proven people manager with 2+ years leading teams, demonstrating strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the business.  Highly organised, self‑motivated professional with strong planning, prioritisation and multitasking skills, capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines in demanding environments.  Exceptional analytical ability and attention to detail, experienced in managing large data volumes while also maintaining a strong strategic and commercial overview.  Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen, supported by excellent project management capabilities, a proactive work ethic, and the ability to understand broader business drivers; fluency in English required, with additional European languages an advantage.  Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and experienced with Oracle Financials and Excel4apps, ensuring robust financial reporting, analysis and system utilisation.  Does this sound like you?
