Job Title: Technical Systems Engineer

  • Play a key part in supporting our Employee Resource Groups: FreshVets, Black Heritage Network, NEU Network (Neurodiversity), GET (Gender Equality Team) and FreshPride
  • Provide real-time support for our Warehouse Control System (WCS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement, recommend and implement change controls, and define local reporting requirements
  • Develop dashboards to enable system analysis and monitoring
  • Continuously evaluate software systems, driving improvements through enhancements or change requests
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal development teams to resolve critical system issues
  • Create and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training materials for WMS and WCS
  • Ensure comprehensive reporting structures are in place to support operational transparency

Requirements

  • Participate in code reviews for automation quality & maintainability
  • Developing and maintaining automated test cases
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Solid understanding of supply chain processes and supporting technologies
  • Demonstrated interest in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage tasks independently while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Interest in AI-assisted engineering tools, automation, or data analysis
  • Some exposure to debugging, log analysis, or quality-related workflows
  • Proficiency in object oriented programming languages (e.g. Java)
  • Foundational knowledge of quality assurance, basic test automation, and modern testing practices.
  • DevOps practices
  • GitHub
  • Problem-solving in operational environments
  • Python scripting
  • Proficiency in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Has understanding of all the contemporary technology trends: Agile, DevOps, Containers and has the ability to integrate testing automation into overall delivery automation.
  • SQL database querying
  • WCS/WCS engineering experience
