About this role

Job Description

TotaLite builds high-precision optical sensors that monitor critical infrastructure and buildings worldwide. We detect structural displacement with millimeter precision at distances up to 100 meters. We are scaling from ~50 devices per year today to 2000+ devices annually within three years. That requires a step-change in operational structure, quality discipline, and supply chain control. We are a technical product company with a small team of 14 FTE becoming a reliable hardware delivery organisation. That transition is why this role exists.

As Technical Operations Lead, you are responsible for building and professionalizing our hardware operations and supply chain, without turning us into a bureaucracy. This is not a corporate operations role. This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership role requiring scaling-up builder mentality.

Responsibilities

  • You oversee and optimise internal operational “factory” processes;
  • You manage the full hardware supply chain across six key suppliers, covering electronics, firmware, and mechanical components;
  • You strengthen quality assurance and improve incoming inspection standards;
  • You implement structured version control, inventory management, and configuration management;
  • You establish clear planning cycles for demand, supply, and production batches;
  • You increase delivery predictability and operational reliability;
  • You enhance documentation and operational discipline across hardware operations, supply chain, and eventually the wider organisation, while leading a small cross‑functional team;
  • You are comfortable switching between: hands-on executing and leading our internal operations, negotiating with suppliers, designing a lean process, improving a documentation structure, solving customer support and production issues
  • Your track record
  • You hold 5+ years of experience in hardware operations, production management, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment;
  • You have proven experience managing supply chains involving electronics, embedded software, mechanical components;
  • You are experienced with low- to mid-volume precision hardware (not only mass production);
  • You possess experience implementing structured inventory, version and quality management;
  • You likely worked in IoT, Instrumentation, Industrial hardware, technical B2B products;
  • You bring strong project‑management discipline, communicate clearly and proactively, and thrive in ambiguous environments;
  • You are a hands-on builder who likes turning messy growth into structured scale.
