About this role

The opportunity

The Asset Store is a marketplace that connects asset buyers with sellers of tools and art for real-time 3D production - essentially, the Amazon for the Unity ecosystem. At its core, it's a large-scale e-commerce platform. As we evolve, we are focused on modernizing our store experience and unlocking new avenues for growth and user engagement.

You will help build and operate the automation that keeps Unity’s Asset Store safe and compliant. You’ll expand our current quality and automated processes, develop security scans and improve standards checks that protect creators and customers at scale.

You’ll work closely with Asset Store, Package Manager and Security teams, with hands-on mentorship and clear growth paths into security engineering and developer tooling.

What you'll be doing

Build and run lightweight static scans for Unity assets/packages to detect risky patterns

Build complex systems analyzing and itemizing packages content

Inventory dependencies, registries, and binaries, and flag unapproved scoped registries or suspicious artifacts

Document findings with evidence and recommend block/flag/allow decisions; propose policy-as-code rules and CI integration

Iterate detectors to reduce noise; add archive scanning and folder hygiene checks

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Unity; able to read and write Unity C# code and common APIs
  • Practical scripting for static scanning and reporting
  • Comfortable with Git and CI runners
  • Detection rule authoring or configuration using simple tools and awareness of false positives/negatives
  • Curiosity about getting things done in a growing and flexible organization with a willingness to do things differently
  • You might also have
  • Proficiency in Python or Golang
  • Familiarity with Unity or other 3D engines
  • Experience integrating AI helpers in developer tooling
