Requirements

  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in implementing and managing enterprise engineering platforms
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a technology-led organisation, ideally in fintech or regulated financial services.
  • Comfortable operating at all levels, from hands-on problem solving to strategic decision-making, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Strong technical background, with deep experience in cloud-native environments, SaaS platforms, and modern workplace infrastructure. Experience with Google Workspace and the wider Google ecosystem is strongly preferred.
  • Practical experience with modern IT operating models, including configuration as code, automation, and Zero Trust security principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, set clear technology strategy, and run IT support and engineering functions effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on improving reliability, operational efficiency, and user experience.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to engage, challenge, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with a strong customer-first mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.

ABOUT THE TEAM: The IT team at Tide is a small, high-impact group of around 20 people, combining a responsive service desk with strong project-based engineering capability. The team operates in a cloud-native environment, with Google Workspace at the core, and supports a large, globally distributed workforce. The focus is on enabling the business through reliable, secure access to a wide range of SaaS platforms, while continuously improving how services are delivered as the organisation scales. ABOUT THE ROLE: As Head of Information Technology, you will: Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers and service desk colleagues, setting clear direction and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Define and deliver a cloud-native, SaaS-first workplace technology strategy that scales with the business and improves staff productivity. Bring experience running comparable IT functions, supported by a strong technical background and sound architectural judgement. Embed Zero Trust security principles across workplace technology to protect company data and systems in a pragmatic, user-centred way. Partner with senior stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into reliable, secure, and efficient IT services. Own and manage the IT budget, ensuring spend is controlled, transparent, and focused on delivering clear value. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly analyse team performance data to make data-driven decisions for enhancements and optimisation.
