IG Settlement Lead Analyst
FBT defines, owns, sources and operates efficient and standardised business services for the bp.
We are business process professionals, working as a unified organisation across finance, customer service, procurement, PC&C and other functional areas to fully support bp in its global operations and aims. Our license to operate is dependent on us being able to deliver silent running in the most efficient manner.

Risk and control: Enhancing bp's business and system controls through improved governance and implementation of global process designs, systems templates and control frameworks.
Process effectiveness: Increasing cash and working capital delivery; improved process effectiveness and reliability through delivering an accurate outcome first time.
Process efficiency: Driving commonality of global processes and building these into standard templates to be incorporated into our ERP systems implementations and our continuous improvement activities across operational processes.
Quality service: Delivering enhanced customer services to the businesses we support and bp’s customers, through our well-trained, professional people.
Capability: Developing future leaders for the organisation through talent management bp and career mapping and developing deep expertise in the domain of process.
ST&S performs physical and financial trades with internal counter parties on behalf of BP's businesses, managing physical supply and exposure; as well as for entrepreneurial purposes using market intelligence data.
The role of the Group Settlements Team is to ensure trades are recorded and settled (payments and receivables) in an accurate and timely manner. This requires a thorough understanding of the deal life cycle (from trade execution through to physical delivery and final settlement). Transactions can be very high value and with complex terms and conditions, requiring efficient problem solving skills.
The Group Settlements Team is responsible for managing intercompany reconciliations and settlements with bp affiliates, the team performs the month-end and quarter-end closing activities.
In this role You will:
Manage a portfolio of counterparties for settlement of financial and physical transactions.
Accountable for the accurate and timely completion of Settlements activities within area of responsibility, which include:
Generate customer invoices and supporting documentation
Settle all intercompany transactions per contractual terms
Ensure funds are received and paid on time and accurately; liaise with counterparties should any discrepancies occur; provide thorough explanations for any outstanding balances
Provide accurate details of projected cash flows to enable BP Treasury to manage daily and weekly cash requirements
Build and maintain strong relationships with T&S commercial teams
Ensure delivery of high quality customer service
Manage aged open items
Deal with a wide variety of ad-hoc queries timely and raise as appropriate
Identify and assist in delivering continuous Improvement ideas
Actively participate and support projects as appropriate
Provide exceptional internal and external customer service in order to build and strengthen relationships
What You will need to be successful:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in finance or accounting
Understanding of Accounts Payable and Receivable settlement principles
SAP experience
Creating and delivering Continuous Improvements ideas (e.g. process change and/or automation & reporting changes)
Experience in trading settlements & understanding of commodity trading lifecycle (deal execution/entry to settlement) is an advantage.
