Professional Services Field Engineer

About this role

Responsibilities

• Install and configure NetApp FAS, AFF, ASA, and E/EF-series systems (switch-based or switchless setups)
• Lead planning, design, implementation, and closure
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
• Conduct technical knowledge-sharing and mentoring sessions

Requirements

• Proven experience in deploying NetApp infrastructure solutions across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments
• Hands-on expertise with MetroCluster IP and FC configurations
• Proficient in controller upgrades (headswaps) and switch-to-switchless conversions (Cisco, Broadcom, NVIDIA)
• Deep understanding of storage protocols: NFS, SMB, FC, FCoE, iSCSI, NVMe/FC, NVMe/TCP, S3
• Experience using NetApp data protection tools: Snapshot, SnapVault, SnapMirror, SnapLock
• Familiarity with BlueXP and other NetApp management platforms

• Desirable Skills:
• Hands-on experience with StorageGRID deployment and integration
• Knowledge of virtualization and network virtualization technologies
• Experience with cloud storage solutions: Cloud Volumes ONTAP, FSx for ONTAP, Azure NetApp Files, Google Cloud
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience with NetApp technologies and enterprise storage deployments
• Willingness to travel extensively for client engagements
• Certifications Required:
• NetApp Certified Storage Installation Engineer, ONTAP (NCSIE)
• Desired Certifications:
• NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer MetroCluster Specialist NSO-014
• NetApp Accredited StorageGRID Implementation Engineer NS0-075
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+
