Assistant Project Manager

The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in the overall execution of a large-scale data center project. This role is responsible for on-site project administration, cost and schedule management, change management, and coordination between field operations, trade partners, designers, and the client team. The position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams within a fast-paced, mission-critical construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management and Administration
  • Support the Project Manager with overall project execution, planning, and reporting
  • Take lead responsibility for assigned small projects or scoped work packages, including planning, coordination, execution, and closeout
  • Manage day-to-day project administration and documentation
  • Coordinate and supervise Office Engineers and administrative staff as assigned
  • Maintain organized project records, correspondence, and contract documentation
  • Cost, Schedule, and Change Management
  • Develop and manage cost control logs, labor tracking, and financial reporting
  • Assist with preparation of monthly owner pay applications and forecasts
  • Identify, price, and process change events, potential change orders, and claims
  • Support schedule updates, production tracking, and recovery planning as needed
  • Coordination and Technical Support
  • Support resolution of design conflicts and interface issues between trade partners
  • Assist field supervision with interpretation of drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals
  • Participate in owner, designer, and trade partner coordination meetings
  • Coordinate with BIM/VDC teams to support constructability and field execution
  • Safety and Quality
  • Support project safety initiatives and participate in safety meetings and audits
  • Implement and support the project Quality Control Plan and inspection process

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architec
