Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for operating the grinders, mixers and powerlifts.
Responsibilities
- Follow computer generated formulations step by step.
- Scale and grind meats producing up to 10
- preblends
- /hour.
- Empty mixers into two vats, each weighing approximately 2900 pounds.
- Move vats, weighing approximately 2900 pounds of product, from under mixer to staging area.
- Level tanks, keep the floor clean at all times, and follow general housekeeping duties.
- Use the computer-generated formulator for specific meat types to hit correct fat percentage for blends (once every 3 minutes).
- Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability and willingness to scan or input into computer system, all product film, boxes, casings, clips, and ingredients for all daily product runs, including change overs.
- Ability and willingness to follow formulations on the computer and accurately record and report food safety or product information.
- Complete SAP functions with issuing meat prior to additions. (complete for one blend every 6 minutes).
- Complete grinder head checks.
- Complete all necessary paperwork.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
- Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.
- Perform any other work as assigned by management.
- Physical Requirements:
- The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability and willingness to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level with a minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
- Ability and willingness to push 2900 pounds (with assistance).
- Ability and willingness to use rapid mental/muscular coordination simultaneously.
- Ability and willingness to flex/grip with hand/wrist frequently.
- Ability and willingness to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.
- Ability and willingness to work on elevated platforms and workstations.
- Ability and willingness to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.
- Preferred Skills:
- Machine Operator experience preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
- RF Scanner experience preferred
