We are one of the world’s oldest start‑ups – and this is just the beginning. At Husqvarna Group, we develop world‑class products and technologies for forest, park, and green space care. Within our Global Handheld R&D division, we are driving the development of the next generation of powertrains, where the two‑stroke engine plays a central role for our most demanding users, both today and in the future.
The Base Engine team is responsible for the cylinder, piston, crankshaft, and bearings, including interfaces with other subsystems.
Role description
We are looking for a manager who wants to lead and develop a highly skilled engineering team responsible for key engine components within our two‑stroke engines for handheld products.
You will have overall responsibility for the development, industrialization, and lifecycle management of our core two‑stroke engine components within R&D Handheld ICE. You will lead a team of approximately 10 engineers and specialists working across the entire product lifecycle – from concept development and simulation to validation, cost optimization, and quality improvements in serial production.
As a leader, you create the conditions for the team to succeed. You foster a culture that promotes development, curiosity, collaboration, and data‑driven ways of working. You coach and support engineers in both technical development and ways of working, and you encourage new perspectives and continuous improvement in a safe and inclusive environment.
You will be a member of the Power Systems management team and contribute to operational improvements and strategic initiatives. The role also includes responsibility for delivery precision in projects, resource planning, and budget ownership.
Your profile
We believe you combine leadership capability with a solid technical foundation and enjoy working in a complex, cross‑functional environment.
