About this role

Steady Energy is a Finnish nuclear technology company developing the LDR-50 small modular reactor (SMR) to deliver safe, scalable, and carbon-free heat production for district heating and industrial applications. Our mission is to accelerate the clean energy transition by combining world-class engineering, uncompromising nuclear safety, and agile product development. As among the 10 most promising start ups in Finland (according to EU-startups), Steady Energy has secured €30 million in funding to reshape energy generation and bring its zero-emission heating plants to the market by 2030.

We are seeking a skilled System Engineer with strong expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support the conceptual and design phases of the LDR-50 SMR plant, contributing to the definition, development, integration, and validation of related complex systems. In this role, your deep understanding of nuclear installations and ability to interpret the overall system architecture will be essential to ensuring a well-integrated, safe, and efficient plant design. You will apply a systems engineering approach that considers the system’s environment throughout its lifecycle, focusing on distinguishing needs from solutions and thoroughly exploring stakeholder requirements to build a complete understanding of the problem space. Using formalized modeling techniques aligned with INCOSE best practices, you will enhance system design, maintain traceability, and support effective lifecycle management to ensure outcomes meet stakeholder expectations.

If you are motivated by meaningful, technically challenging systems work and thrive in environments where collaboration drives innovation, this is your opportunity to contribute to shaping the next generation of sustainable nuclear energy solutions.
