About this role

This is a fixed-term part-time position with a working time of 48 % of full working time (approx. 75 h/month) for the period 1 April - 31 July 2026.

This position offers an opportunity to work on a cutting-edge research topic at the intersection of offshore wind energy, hydrogen production, and techno-economic optimization. The role may also provide valuable experience for students considering a future PhD or research career, including the possibility to co-author scientific publications and contribute to applied energy research

Your role / tasks

Modelling of the Offshore wind production of hyrodgen

The main task is to model offshore wind-based hydrogen production under different electrolyser configurations. The candidate will develop and run simulation models to generate sufficient data for minimizing the Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH). The successful candidate is expected to develop validated simulation models for offshore wind-powered hydrogen production and contribute to scientific publications related to the project. All tasks will be agreed upon in more detail in the Work Plan. The annual working time is 900 hours.

Desired Background

Applicants should have a strong academic or professional background in the following areas:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Energy Technology, Electrical Engineering, or relevant Engineering degree.

Applicants who hold or are close to completing a master's degree in a related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, or Project Management Engineering) with strong academic performance will also be considered.

Basic understanding of project finance

Experience or knowledge in power electronics

Knowledge of integration of electrical and control subsystems and energy management systems

Preferred Qualifications

Experience or strong interest in the following areas is highly desirable:

MATLAB and Simulink, particularly for simulation and modelling of hydrogen production systems

Application of machine learning m
