The opportunity
Do you want to play a key role in the global green energy transition and help meet the world’s growing need for sustainable, flexible, and secure power? Join us and contribute to a cleaner and more resilient energy landscape.
At Hitachi Energy in Ludvika, you will be part of the HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) business unit—world leaders in HVDC technology. We develop, manufacture, and deliver advanced transmission systems used worldwide to enable long‑distance power transfer, submarine cable transmission, grid interconnections, and large‑scale integration of offshore wind.
If you're excited by ultra-high voltage levels (hundreds of kV), gigawatt-scale power, and high‑frequency studies on plant-level in an international setting, then you may be the person we’re looking for.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Perform technical studies and 3D simulations during tenders and project execution, focusing on high‑frequency emissions and filtering in HVDC stations.
Translate theory into practice by integrating study results into HVDC filter design and related components.
Contribute to R&D initiatives to keep us at the forefront of the industry.
Work mainly from our Ludvika office, with opportunities for international travel for site measurements and inspections.
Work closely with experts in Multiphysics domains like: electric and magnetic fields, lightning protection, grounding for extremely high currents (up to 100 kA), and more.
Your Background
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Power Systems, or a related field.
We are hiring for multiple positions and therefore we welcome both experienced engineers and recent graduates—motivation and curiosity are just as important as experience.
Strong interest in combining various aspects and requirements like electrical, mechanical and civil turning them into robust, practical designs.
Previous experience in any neighboring relevant areas is a plus but not required.
You’re a positive, solution‑orie
