About the Role Are you ready to lead transformational change at the intersection of operations, compliance, and technology? We're looking for an exceptional Senior Project Manager to join our FinCrime Operations team and drive operational readiness for major organizational changes while maintaining strict adherence to global compliance standards. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of Wise's mission to build money without borders, managing critical projects that protect our customers and ensure we operate with the highest standards of financial crime prevention. What You'll Do Project & Programme Delivery Create robust governance frameworks and drive the execution of large-scale, multidimensional projects. You'll manage the entire project lifecycle, from discovery and solution design through to technical and operational implementation. Cross-Functional Leadership Own critical cross-functional projects with a key focus on remediations and financial crime prevention. You'll collaborate closely with partners across Product, Engineering, FinCrime Operations, People, Compliance, and beyond. Strategic Impact Work on the top operational initiatives in the FinCrime Operations function and secure executive sponsorship to execute them successfully. Governance & Risk Management Leverage your project governance expertise to manage scope, timelines, communications, and accountability. You'll proactively identify, track, and manage delivery risks, ensuring robust mitigation plans are in place while adhering to regulatory requirements. Data-Driven Success Clearly define what success looks like for your projects and evaluate progress using a blend of qualitative and quantitative methods to demonstrate measurable impact.  

What We're Looking For Essential : 6+ years of experience in project or programme management, or a background in building products at scale with a deep understanding of organizational complexity Proven track record of managing complex, multi-phase projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies Expert planning skills: Ability to create high-quality project plans, break down tasks, map dependencies, and identify the critical path Influential leadership: Natural ability to influence without direct authority and switch effortlessly between being an individual contributor and leading wider teams Data-driven mindset: Strong ability to gather and interpret data to identify opportunities, measure impact, and tell compelling stories that inspire action Problem-solving excellence: Strong decision-making skills and expertise in overcoming complex challenges, questioning the status quo, and formulating actionable plans Outstanding communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences, from senior leadership to operational teams Autonomous operator: Ability to resolve challenges, make impactful decisions, and drive projects forward independently Nice to Have: Experience working within fintech or financial institutions
