About this role

This role is responsible for overseeing and managing all technical aspects related to food safety and product quality systems on site. Responsible for implementing robust systems, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This role manages a team of FSQA colleagues whilst ensuring that health & safety standards and compliance standards are maintained for all audits on site.

This is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract, covering parental leave

What You Will Be Doing:

Managing a team of colleagues to ensure that OKR’s/ KPIs are met in full and on time.

Engaging and developing the team to achieve optimum performance and for the Colleagues to meet their full potential.

Role modelling the Company’s DNA and ensuring that these are followed by the team.

Dealing with day to day queries from other stakeholders – liaising with HR, Warehouse, Operations, Inventory, Planning, Training Teams as required.

Ensure audit protocols are completed to the correct frequency, ensuring all non-conformances are closed out satisfactorily and root cause identified

Coordinate and participate in investigations of food safety and quality incidents or complaints, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence.

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the introduction of new products and processes meet all quality and safety requirements.

Lead and support cross-functional teams during internal and external audits, inspections and certifications, ensuring successful outcomes.

Maintain up to date and accurate records (including computerised/digital) on production, food safety data and analyse this data to identify trends, problems and opportunities for improvement.

Identifying and leading continuous improvement processes.

Undertaking problem solving activities and escalating to the Team Lead International DC where necessary.

Ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Instructions are followed across site.

Effectively coordinating the function so that operations runs smoothly.

Undertaking audits and following through on actions regarding compliance to Food Safety; Health & Safety Standards and any other specified standards eg: BRCGS, ISO, Internal audits as required.

Who You Are:

Level 3 HACCP

Level 3 Food Safety

Proven experience in food safety and quality assurance.

Experience in leading and auditing against BRCGS standard

People management experience

Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP).

Ability to present data accurately and succinctly.

Proficiency in using Google-suite software.

Proven knowledge of SOP's and standards.

Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards.

A Degree in food science, microbiology or related field, as well as Level 4 qualifications in HACCP and Food Safety would be highly desirable but not essential
