Join WPP's Global Privacy Team as a Global Data Protection Manager. You'll be crucial in shaping and implementing our worldwide data protection strategy, including the interplay with existing and new AI regulations. This role drives compliance, operational effectiveness, and fosters a strong culture of privacy-by-design and responsible AI across our global network.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Global Privacy Initiatives: Drive key projects like privacy tool implementation, data mapping, and vendor assessment frameworks.
  • Develop & Implement Standards: Create and maintain global privacy policies and resources, ensuring compliance with evolving international laws (GDPR, CCPA, PIPL, EU AI Act, and other AI-specific regulations).
  • Design Training Programs: Develop and coordinate comprehensive global privacy training, promoting responsible data practices, including for AI.
  • Manage Risk & Remediation: Identify, assess, and support remediation of global privacy risks, contributing to DPIA processes and privacy-by-design.
  • Provide Expert Guidance: Serve as a central subject matter expert, advising on complex global privacy queries and collaborating with Legal, Security, and IT.
  • Monitor & Report: Track and report on the effectiveness of WPP's global data protection framework and compliance activities.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in data privacy/protection, preferably in a multinational setting. Experience in media/advertising is a plus.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep practical expertise in global data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, PIPL, EU AI Act, etc.) and emerging frameworks.
  • Program & Project Management: Proven ability to lead complex privacy programs and projects.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, able to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
  • Collaboration: Excellent collaboration and stakeholder influence across diverse teams and cultures.
  • Certifications: Relevant privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) are beneficial.
  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies and tools is a plus.
