đŸ§‘đŸ»â€đŸ’» About the role

First things first: you want to know what you’re actually applying for. It’s impossible to capture every nuance of a role – especially at a rapidly growing company like Mews – but if we had to distill it down to a job description (which we do because this is a job description), it would be this:

We’re looking for a Financial Accounting Expert to join our Customer Success team. If you speak both “accounting” and “tech” fluently and have a strong understanding of financial operations in hospitality—especially within German accounting frameworks, you’ll feel right at home here.

You’ll be the go-to person for hotel finance teams, translating complex accounting needs into seamless Mews workflows. Whether it’s reconciliations, VAT compliance, or reporting, you’ll help customers optimize how they run their books with Mews.

✅ Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

Act as the bridge between hotel accounting teams and the Mews platform

Guide clients through financial workflow optimization and system setup

Provide expert support for complex accounting issues, especially in:

End-of-month and end-of-year financial reports

Accounting ledger and payout reconciliations

VAT and city tax compliance (particularly in Germany)

Billing and invoice corrections

Deliver best-in-class training and support to help clients master our tools

Work cross-functionally with internal teams to drive product improvements

Stay ahead of accounting trends in hospitality, ensuring clients remain compliant and competitive

đŸ€ You’ll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:

Experience in hotel accounting or finance operations (e.g. night audit)

Solid understanding of German accounting standards and VAT frameworks

Experience with PMS (e.g. Opera, Cloudbeds, Guestline) and accounting tools (e.g. DATEV, Xero, SAP)

Clear communication skills—you can explain technical topics to non-technical people

Strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-centric mindset

Comfort with remote-first collaboration and working across teams

Interest in SaaS, business intelligence, or financial analytics in hospitality

Fluency in German

🎉 What’s in it for you?

Did you know Mews was named Best PMS of 2025 - for the second year in a row - and twice recognized as a Best Place to Work in Hotel Tech?

That success is powered by our incredible people and supported by the benefits that help them thrive.

🌍 Global benefits

No matter where you’re based, you’ll enjoy:

Participation in our company share program

Best-in-class parental leave (6 months fully paid for primary caregivers, 2 months for secondary, available within your first year)

Unlimited paid holiday (yes, really)

Work from anywhere - enjoy the flexibility to work from other countries for a few weeks each year through our compliant and flexible Workation policy.
