We are looking for several Research Assistants to work in research groups in Software Engineering Laboratory at Tampere University.

Ever wanted to vibe code a robot claw? (several positions). This summer you'll rig up Raspberry Pi-powered claw machines with actual AI brains - think agents that see, think, trash-talk each other, and sometimes hilariously fail at grabbing stuff. You'll start with unhinged demo scenarios like claws that lie, towers that collapse, and blind robots trying to follow instructions, then level up to solving real problems in software engineering and construction. It's hands-on, it's chaotic, and by the end you'll have built something that actually works - most of the time

Electric vehicle charging data demonstrator (one position)

We are developing a web-based simulation platform for analyzing electric vehicle charging behavior and its impact on local power grids and are now extending it from static scenarios toward a more dynamic, data-driven system. In this role, you will prepare the system to handle live data sources, expand the range of supported scenarios, and iterate the simulation engine useful for decision support. Experience with AI-driven software engineering, Python, web development, and electrical engineering are considered an advantage.
