Job description

We are hiring one outstanding and motivated Pre-Doctoral Research Assistant.

This position is ideal for candidates planning to pursue graduate studies in Economics. Applicants should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics (or a closely related field).

This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in cutting-edge empirical research relevant for public policy in an inspiring academic environment. The research assistant will support a project studying the reform of the mental health system in Finland. Tasks may include collecting undigitized archival data; cleaning and organizing datasets; writing institutional background descriptions; preparing literature reviews on topics related to health economics.

Our expectations of the applicant

The ideal candidate

1) is eager to work with and analyze large empirical data sets,

2) has strong coding skills (e.g. Stata, R, Python or similar),

4) demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills,

5) can work in joint projects assisting senior researchers and

6) is able to work independently.

Language skills needed in the job

Excellent written and spoken Finnish and English

Expected skills

Experience with empirical methods in Economics is considered an asset
