About this role
Boulevard Tech is building an AI- product for the legal and regulatory. We operate in a domain where correctness, robustness, and real-world reliability matter more than demos or hype.
We're looking for a Senior / Lead AI Engineer to lead our AI effort. This is a deeply hands-on engineering role: you'll spend the vast majority of your time writing production code and making core technical decisions on the AI side of the product.
What this role is really about
This is not a research role and not a people-management role. You'll design, build, and ship AI-powered systems that real users depend on. You'll take ownership of architecture-level decisions and help set the technical standard for AI engineering in the team.
What you'll do in practice
You'll design and ship features in our AI and deep research framework, make architectural decisions around retrieval, agent orchestration, evaluation, and LLM integration, and continuously raise the quality and maintainability of the AI codebase. You'll stay close to the evolving LLM ecosystem and bring the right techniques into production pragmatically.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineering experience and strong technical judgment
- Demonstrable depth in the LLM / agentic AI space (production work, serious side projects, or open-source contributions)
- A clear track record of shipping production systems used by real users
- Genuine, ongoing engagement with the LLM/AI ecosystem
- Strong plus
- Strong Python skills (modern async Python, FastAPI, Pydantic)
- Hands-on production experience with RAG
- Hands-on experience with agentic systems and LLM orchestration
- Experience with vector databases (Qdrant or equivalent)
- Practical fluency with LLM engineering (prompts, structured outputs, evaluation, cost/latency tradeoffs)

- Experience building AI products in regulated or document-heavy domains
- Experience with confidential or sensitive document pipelines
