Senior Supply Accounting Analyst
This role is responsible for driving
automation, development, and the implementation of AI‑enabled solutions
within Supply Accounting to improve efficiency, quality, and control. Acting as a
process‑aware automation champion
, the role works closely with Process SMEs and S&IA teams to develop a strong end‑to‑end understanding of Supply Accounting processes and to identify, design, and deliver sustainable improvements.
The position supports
robust financial control, policy compliance, and accurate hydrocarbon accounting
, ensuring timely, complete, and auditable accounting outputs. It plays a key role in enabling efficient period‑end close activities and in resolving accounting queries using established guidance such as the Group Reporting Manual and QMS requirements.
The role contributes actively to
system and business transformations
, providing automation and process expertise across all project phases. It requires close collaboration with partners, continuous communication with process owners, and direct support for internal and external audits. Success is measured by the replacement of manual activities with well‑controlled automation, embedded use of AI in daily operations, strengthened controls, and demonstrable efficiency and quality gains across Supply Accounting processes.
In this role You will:
The primary focus of this role is:
Automation, development, and the effective use and implementation of AI-enabled solutions within Supply Accounting processes.
To act as a process-aware automation champion, working closely with Process SMEs to understand end-to-end processes and to identify, design, and deliver efficiency and quality improvements.
To support robust financial control, compliance with policies, and continuous process improvement.
To ensure timely and accurate hydrocarbon accounting processes.
To resolve queries and issues as they arise with reference to relevant resources such as the Group Reporting Manual
To provide effective support to system transformations in all phases of the project.
To ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
To work with the S&IA teams to ensure mutual understanding of all S&IA-related processes.
To align with any other job-related requirements. This may be defined by an attached task list or defined by one’s relevant team lead or process lead.
Key Accountabilities
Automation, Development & AI (Primary Focus):
Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions within Supply Accounting processes
Actively use and implement AI-enabled solutions to support analysis, controls, and reporting
Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone activities and propose automation opportunities
Translate accounting and business requirements into technical automation solutions
Ensure automations are well-documented, controlled, and sustainable
Process Understanding & Continuous Improvement:
Develop strong end-to-end understanding of Supply Accounting processes, as transmitted by Process SMEs
Proactively identify process inefficiencies and simplification opportunities
Partner with collaborators to validate and implement improvements
Continuously review and enhance implemented solutions
Accounting, Control & Compliance:
Support integrity, completeness, and accuracy of accounting outputs through automation
Enable efficient month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
Provide transparent and auditable outputs to support internal and external audits
Ensure adherence to Group Reporting Manual and internal policies
Adhering with the tasks outlined in the QMS Systems of FBT
Controlling the completeness and integrity of hydrocarbon accounting processes
Continuous communication with stakeholders and process SMEs
Support audits (both internal and external)

What You will need to be successful:
Relevant degree (Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, IT, or similar)
Fluent English
Language and interpersonal skills with particular focus on interaction with business operations and process SMEs
Good level of administrative skills
Good level of analytical skills, numeracy and financial awareness
Readiness for action and ability to work under pressure
Good communication and cooperation skills
Good understanding of finance and business processes
Strong willingness and demonstrated ability to improve processes
Active and hands-on knowledge of automation tools: Python, VBA, Power Automate, Power BI, Advanced Excel, AI (Copilot, Claude, etc.).
Ability to absorb and apply process knowledge from Process SMEs effectively
