The company
CarcinoQuant is founded by professors Joel Kullberg and Håkan Ahlström — part of the team behind Antaros Medical, which they recently exited. Building on 15 years of imaging research at Uppsala University, they are now commercializing patented technology that automates whole-body tumor quantification from CT, moving from 2D diameter measurements to comprehensive 3D longitudinal tumor tracking. The product will imply a quantum leap in accuracy for clinicians and drug developers alike.
Responsibilities
- You will own the full software stack: a backend service layer connecting our AI models to clinical workflows, a user-friendly clinical UI for radiologist review in clinical practice and manual correction of segmentation results, and DICOM-based PACS integrations including patient data de-identification gateways. The product will be a regulated medical device — data security and auditability are top concerns. As the team grows, this role moves into a technical lead function with direct influence over architecture, tooling, and hiring. The AI engine and compilation of ground through falls outside scope of this role.
Requirements
- Senior full-stack SW-development background with production experience in backend services and data-intensive UIs.
- Experience in regulated environments — ideally with experience from Software as a Medical Device.
- Familiarity with DICOM and medical imaging workflows.
- Maturity to operate with high autonomy and grow into a technical lead role.
