Doctoral researcher in material technology and circular economy (Reed2Market)
Do you want to research sustainable materials and contribute to the development of bio-based products in close collaboration with industry? Arcada is looking for a doctoral researcher with the ambition to conduct applied and scientific research within circular economy and biocomposites.
The position is part of the Reed2Market co-research initiative, which focuses on developing value chains for common reed from raw material to final products. The project is carried out in close collaboration with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and aims to support their product development through research.
We are looking for a person who has completed a master's degree in a relevant field (material, mechanical or chemical engineering or related) and is motivated to conduct research at doctoral level or is already a doctoral student at a university. You meet the requirements to be a doctoral student at one of Arcada's partner universities and you have documented academic skills.
Your main responsibility is to: Plan and carry out research focused on biocomposites according to the project plan, in close collaboration with companies
Actively support companies by translating research results into applied solutions and contributing to the implementation of developed materials and processes
Publish scientific works
Be an active part of the research community
The position also includes teaching courses for bachelor's students and supervising student projects, such as bachelor's theses.
You speak fluent English and knowledge of Swedish is an advantage. Experience of research projects, work and teaching experience in the subject area and familiarity with data analytics tools are particularly meritorious. As a person, you are driven, agile and forward-thinking.
