Job description
The task will include themes related to preparedness and accident response. The main focus will be on the safety of small modular nuclear reactors and the development of accident preparedness. A job description and more detailed plans and objectives will be prepared jointly for the postdoctoral researcher selected for the position.
The postdoctoral researcher's job includes the implementation of research plans, publication of research results, preparation and submission of applications for funding, research and other cooperation within the organisation as well as with key national and international stakeholders, dissemination of research results to the general public, and other tasks essential to the research project.
The postdoctoral researcher's (50/50) main place of work will be either Vantaa or Lappeenranta, depending on the final content focus of the position.
The position is a part of the postdoc programme of Finnish research institutes. The programme has been granted funding from the Government's multiannual plan for the use of government research and development (R&D) funding. The funding allows for the recruitment of 85 doctoral-level experts to 12 state-owned research institutes between 2025 and 2028. The programme aims to strengthen research, development, and innovation expertise in areas of societal importance. A postdoctoral researcher conducts goal-oriented, high-level research at the interface between the academic community and industry or administration. The programme supports the networking and mobility of postdoctoral researchers between sectors.
