Are you a self-reliant and solution-oriented person? Would you like to be part of a fast-growing company and work on impactful diagnostics development?
Our customer Biohit Oyj is looking for an Assay Development Scientist to join a team focused on Lateral Flow Assay (LFA) product development. The position is full-time and permanent, and the employment contract is formed directly with Biohit Oyj. The workplace is located along good transport links in Roihupelto in Helsinki. The work is mainly done at the office, but partial remote work is possible. We hope that you could start in the position as soon as possible.
About the role
In this role, you will work hands-on in the laboratory to develop and optimize lateral flow immunoassays. You will translate assay needs into clear experimental plans ("design inputs"), generate and document evidence-based assay performance ("design outputs"), and support verification activities by defining test approaches, acceptance criteria, and performance summaries. You will collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders (e.g., development, quality interfaces, manufacturing interfaces as needed) to ensure assay development deliverables are clear, complete, and ready for next-stage work.
Main responsibilities
Hands-on laboratory development and optimization of lateral flow assays, including iterative troubleshooting and robustness improvements
Define assay development objectives and requirements (design inputs) and convert them into clear experimental plans, protocols, and study outlines
Execute experiments with strong attention to detail, maintain structured lab records, and produce clear, concise development reports
Analyze and summarize assay performance using appropriate data handling and basic statistics; communicate conclusions and recommendations clearly
Produce assay development deliverables (design outputs), such as optimized assay conditions, preliminary specifications/targets, and documented rationale for key design choice
