<p>ReOrbit is looking for a Head of System Engineering to lead system engineering team. As our Head of System Engineering, you will be responsible for driving end to end system architecture, ensuring requirements integrity, and enabling effective coordination across all technical domains.</p><p>This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing company and work on next generation satellite platforms where communication reliability is mission critical from day one.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Lead system engineering across the space and ground segment, ensuring a consistent end to end architectural approach</p></li><li><p>Own and maintain requirements integrity from customer needs through system, subsystem, and verification levels</p></li><li><p>Own system budgets (mass, power, data rate, performance, margins) and ensure their consistency throughout the lifecycle</p></li><li><p>Drive system level coordination and alignment across Payload, AOCS, Propulsion, Flight Software, AIT, Operations, and related domains</p></li><li><p>Establish and maintain system engineering processes, workflows, and standards across distributed teams</p></li><li><p>Provide technical direction and ensure high quality system level decision making across programs</p></li><li><p>Build, mentor, and develop a high performing system engineering team across multiple locations</p></li><li><p>Support hiring and growth of the system engineering function in line with company needs</p></li></ul><p><strong>Skills and Requirements</strong></p><ul><li><p>Experience as Leader for System Engineering teams on multiple spacecraft programs that reached orbit</p></li><li><p>Experience across full lifecycle from early design through in-orbit validation, including long lifetime missions (LEO/GEO)</p></li><li><p>Hands on experience applying ECSS-E-ST-10C and related ECSS standards in real projects</p></li><li><p>Practical familiarity with NASA Systems Engineering Handbook (SP-6105) in applied engineering contexts</p></li><li><p>Experience leading system level V&amp;V and IV&amp;V activities</p></li><li><p>Experience with trade offs, feasibility studies, and architectural decision making under constraints</p></li><li><p>Ability to translate customer and operational needs into clear, implementable system requirements</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills across engineering teams, management, and external stakeholders</p></li><li><p>Solid understanding of satellite subsystems and their interactions </p></li><li><p>Experience with satellite level testing and validation </p></li><li><p>Production oriented mindset with focus on scalability and delivery.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>What does ReOrbit do?</strong></p><p>ReOrbit builds the foundation for the next generation of space applications by transforming satellites into truly intelligent, interconnected platforms, defined by software.
