About this role

Bonito is looking for an experienced Head Chef who is actively involved in daily operations and isn't afraid to lead by example!

The restaurant is open five evenings a week and serves dinner only. Being present in the daily operations is essential.

As Head Chef, you will take full responsibility for the kitchen and work closely with the Restaurant Manager. You have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.

You are an important part of the team and inspire others while ensuring that operations run smoothly even in your absence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily kitchen operations
  • Act as the main link between the kitchen and front-of-house, working closely with the Restaurant Manager
  • Supervise, train, and develop kitchen staff; participate in recruitment
  • Prepare work schedules in accordance with the collective labour agreement (TES)
  • Ensure food safety and oversee self-monitoring procedures
  • Promote workplace safety and staff wellbeing
  • Oversee kitchen cost efficiency, inventory management, and waste control
  • Take responsibility for menu development
  • Handle customer feedback together with the Restaurant Manager
  • We expect you to have at least one year of experience in a kitchen supervisory role in Finland.
  • Starting date: mid-April, earlier availability is an advantage.
  • Salary based on agreement and experience.
