Your Mission

You will shape and manage the Books auctions by evaluating, selecting, and presenting high-quality lots. Your expertise ensures that listings are accurate, compelling, and aligned with market demand.

By leveraging your knowledge and network, you will help grow the category, onboard relevant sellers, and maintain fair and transparent transactions for users.

What You’ll Do

Evaluate submitted book lots and determine their suitability for auction

Create clear and attractive listings to drive engagement and sales

Assess titles, descriptions, and images to ensure quality and accuracy

Provide estimated values based on expertise and market knowledge

Guide sellers on auction performance, pricing, and optimisation strategies

Monitor auction results and extract insights to improve future outcomes

Onboard and develop relationships with sellers, expanding the European buyer market

What You’ll Bring

Expert knowledge in Books, ideally within the literary or antiquarian domain

Broad understanding of publications, with generalist knowledge as a plus

Experience trading on platforms such as Catawiki, eBay, 1stDibs, Yahoo, or at book and antiquarian fairs

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret auction data and trends

Commercial awareness, including pricing, sell-through rates, and cash flow dynamics

Excellent communication skills, with a professional and courteous approach

Strong research skills and a well-developed network within the books and collectibles market

How We Work

Operate with a high level of ownership in managing and improving your auction category

Collaborate with sellers to optimise listings and auction performance

Use data and insights to continuously refine auction strategies

Maintain transparency and fairness in all user interactions

This is a 100% remote role based in Germany.

Our Offices and Way of Working

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire collaboration. Most Catawikians operate in a hybrid setup, combining office-based and remote work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, unless a role is explicitly stated as fully remote or fully office-based.
