TRAINEE, Department of Languages

The University of Helsinki Trainee Programme for International Master Students is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master's programme.

We are now looking for two TRAINEES for the Department of Languages!

One trainee will be working mainly in General Linguistics, assisting the staff in research projects and other tasks. The other trainee will be working for the video marketing team of the Department, and the tasks include:

Coordinating the preparation of the video and being the runner during the production phase (getting shooting permissions, informed consent from participants, creating a timetable, liaising between participants, producers and filmmakers and conducting other administrative tasks);

Working on language issues of the video, i.e. translating and proofreeding text in multiple languages for subtitles;

Gathering logos and information for the credits;

Working on disseminating the video.

Both trainees are expected to have:

An excellent command of English

Excellent skills in Microsoft Office tools

Good presentation and teamwork skills

Studying in one of the master's programmes of the Department of Languages is considered a plus when applying.

We offer you an international, multidisciplinary working environment and interesting tasks. With this position, we wish to encourage students with no previous traineeship experience to apply (and who would like to include the traineeship to their degree).

The duration of the traineeship is from 1 September to 31 December 2026 (four months) of part-time (55%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €825 per month for a part-time (55%) trainee.
