We are now looking for an experienced Process Engineer to drive development and performance within our Plasma Etch area.

The Area

Plasma etching is a key technology used to remove thin films of metals, semiconductors, and dielectrics across a wide range of applications. Each product has unique requirements, demanding carefully tailored processes. To meet these needs, the Plasma Etch area operates more than twenty process chambers, specialized for different applications and sourced from multiple equipment suppliers.

The team consists of four Process Engineers and twelve Service Technicians, working closely together to ensure high process stability, equipment uptime, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • As Silex continues to expand, you will play a key role by contributing deep expertise in plasma etching. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that manufacturing targets are met, in close collaboration with operators and service technicians.
  • A central part of the role is developing new processes and enabling the etching of novel materials. You will take ownership of process development—from initial concept and feasibility, through optimization, to implementation of robust, production-ready recipes suitable for high-volume manufacturing.
  • In this role, you will:
  • Identify opportunities for general process improvements and long-term development within the area.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize plasma etching processes for new products including reviewing specifications and process flows.
  • Develop and maintain operator work instructions and trainings, and ensure adherence to established routines.
  • Handle non-conforming production batches and development material together with Process Integration Engineers.
