JOB DESCRIPTION
The Video Coding Systems Research team at Nokia Technology Standards has a strong track record in developing and implementing compression algorithms and features for international standards. You will be part of a highly skilled multi-national team of experts in the field of video compression. Your responsibilities would comprise various tasks in development and testing of new video coding algorithms/system features/software for next generation video coding standards.
Position: internship; Duration: 1 year; Start date (tentative): May 2026.
Responsibilities
- Implement new features, conduct computer simulations and evaluate the experimental results.
- Study and develop new video coding algorithms for next generation video coding standards.
- Analyze contributions presented at JVET standardization meetings.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of basic signal/image/video processing/compression.
- Proficiency in software development in C, C++, Python.
- Knowledge of current video coding standards, such as AVC, HEVC, and VVC.
