The Technical Project Manager piping leads mechanical and piping discipline delivery across Balance of Plant construction areas, ensuring technical excellence,
safety and on-time completion. This role directly impacts plant performance by integrating piping systems work with overall project goals to deliver reliable, cost-effective industrial facilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage all mechanical and piping discipline activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, technical standards and project requirements.
- Coordinate with Plant Unit Project Managers and Construction Managers to integrate discipline-specific work into the overall plant unit schedule and scope.
- Oversee contractors and suppliers (PMC, engineering partners, OEMs, construction partners), monitor progress, and enforce quality and safety standards.
- Track discipline-related progress, costs and resources; report status to the Technical Discipline Manager and Construction Area Project Manager.
- Identify technical risks and drive mitigation plans with stakeholders to minimize schedule and cost impact.
- Review, approve and manage deliverables within the discipline, ensuring documentation, testing and commissioning readiness.
- Provide technical input to procurement and contract negotiations; assess and implement approved change requests.
- Apply lessons learned and continuous improvement practices to enhance delivery efficiency and reduce project risk.
- Ensure adherence to design-to-cost targets and adjust activities to meet financial and schedule objectives.
