About this role

The role

HelloFresh is looking for a strategic, high-energy Chief of Staff to partner closely with our Group CMO. This is a high-visibility, individual contributor role designed for someone who wants to gain a 360-degree view of how a global, data-driven marketing engine operates at scale.

Responsibilities

  • HelloFresh is looking for a strategic, high-energy Chief of Staff to partner closely with our Group CMO. This is a high-visibility, individual contributor role designed for someone who wants to gain a 360-degree view of how a global, data-driven marketing engine operates at scale.
  • In this role, you will be the CMO's "force multiplier." You will bridge the gap between high-level marketing vision and operational execution, ensuring our global marketing functions—from Performance and Brand to Product Marketing and CRM—are aligned, efficient, and hitting their growth targets.
  • Location: Berlin Global HQ
  • Reporting to: Group CMO
  • What you’ll do
  • Strategic Partner: Serve as the CMO’s right hand in defining and communicating the Global Marketing strategy across all brands and regions (HelloFresh, Factor, Green Chef, etc.). Be an active participant in leadership fora, sparring partner and at times stand-in for the CMO.
  • Staff Optimization: Work with the CMO and dedicated People Business Partners, to deliver on people efficiency and effectiveness across the global marketing organization, and develop the Global Marketing Leadership Team (GMLT) into a high performing entity.
  • Marketing Team Operations & OKRs: Manage the rhythm of the marketing team operating system. This includes managing Group Marketing planning and OKRs processes, tracking global KPI trends, and ensuring our "Marketing Steering" meetings are focused on the highest-leverage topics.
  • Cross-Functional Bridge: Connect the dots between the Global Marketing team and other key functions like Tech/Product, Ops, People, Finance (FP&A), and the local CMOs in our various markets. Develop and build on relationships with a diverse network of employees across the broader business for increased efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations.
  • High-Stakes Program Management: Lead special projects that don't have a natural "home"—such as process re-vamps, marketing tooling recommendations, or cross-market best practice audits. Oversee strategic business initiatives, from development through successful execution in partnership with the GMLT.
  • Process Czar: You are a natural systems thinker, and help the CMO by translating ideas into replicable and scalable processes, that are successfully implemented and adhered to across the Global Marketing Organization.
  • Communication & Synthesis: Prepare white-papers, board-level presentations, and internal "Global Marketing Deep Dives." You will distill existing data, reports, conversations and strategies into actionable insights for the Global Marketing Leadership Team (GMLT).
  • Leadership Enablement: Structure CMO leadership touch points to ensure they unlock cross-functional collaboration and move from "reporting" to "deciding." You will hold stakeholders accountable for follow-ups and ensure the CMO's time is spent on top-tier priorities.
  • What you’ll bring
  • Marketing Fluency: You have a solid grasp of the marketing funnel. While you don't need to be an expert in every channel, you should understand the interactions between channels, between brand-building and performance-marketing, and how to navigate resource allocation problems.
  • Structured Problem Solving: You excel at taking a “vague problem" and turning it into a structured framework with clear owners and timelines. You are very comfortable with context switching and get energized by managing multiple scopes and topics at once.
  • Analytical Rigor: You are comfortable in a spreadsheet and a dashboard. You can look at marketing spend data and identify the "so what" without needing a briefing.
  • Influencing without Authority: You have a proven track record of getting things done across different departments and geographies, navigating the nuances between Global and Local teams.
  • Discretion & Judgment: You will be privy to sensitive high-level discussions; your ability to handle confidential information and provide "loyal opposition" to the CMO is vital.
  • Communication: You have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to turn complex ideas clearly and concisely into crisp executive summaries and articulate narratives that inspires a 500+ person marketing organization.
