At GSK, we are using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to develop new therapies and personalized drugs that drive better outcomes for patients. We are also developing AI solutions that increase operational efficiency, productivity and business processes for GSK’s people. Our Economics, Ethics and Policy organisation consists of philosophers, mathematicians and engineers working on two distinct fields: AI safety and the ethical and public policy implications of using AI systems in drug discovery and clinical applications on the one hand, and developing systems that seek to dynamically optimise the mix of assets in GSK’s multi-billion-pound R&D portfolio on the other.
The focus of the Operations Engineer role will be to proactively provide operational support to the Economics, Ethics and Policy organisation. You will be reporting to the organisation’s Product Manager. We are looking for someone who combines organisational intelligence with a practical, business-oriented mindset to help the team run smoothly and efficiently.
In this role you will
Coordinate and support operational activities across the Economics, Ethics and Policy organisation, helping ensure clear ownership, timelines and effective cross-functional collaboration across AIML and the wider organisation.
Develop, implement and continuously improve processes and systems to support the team’s work, proactively identifying gaps or inefficiencies and working with stakeholders to design practical solutions — including the use of agent-enabled automation where appropriate.
Provide structured analysis and operational support to leadership where needed, and help maintain end-to-end oversight of core governance standards to ensure consistency, transparency and compliance with internal requirements.
Manage day-to-day operational aspects of external partnerships and vendor relationships, including contract renewals, licensing, CDAs, studentship agreements and associated financial processes.
Establish and maintain clear documentation, meeting structures and reporting processes to support transparency and effective coordination across the organisation.
Support recruitment and onboarding activities in coordination with relevant internal teams.
