We are looking for a Presales Engineer to join our team in Zurich, supporting our Sales Team in demonstrating, designing, validating, and delivering technically sound solutions that address customer needs and business objectives.
What You’ll Do
As a Presales Engineer, you will play a key role in the success of the company being directly involved end to end in the sales motions, from the first point of contact with a prospect to closing the deal. You will be working closely with prospects and customers to design and validate solutions throughout the sales lifecycle, from discovery and solution design to demonstrations, proof of concepts, and handover to delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Requirement Gathering and Solution Scoping
Engage with prospects to gather high-level requirements and understand their business challenges.
Scope solutions by defining the “As-Is” and “To-Be” states, architecture, timeline, deliverables, success criteria, and effort estimation (mandays).
Consult with project managers and engineers to ensure realistic timelines and technical feasibility.
Document findings in Statements of Work (SOWs) and project scoping templates, ensuring all relevant details are captured for handover to delivery teams.
Technical Presentations and Demonstrations
Demonstrate Squirro’s capabilities to prospects, tailoring presentations and demos to specific use cases and industry needs.
Develop and present Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), which may involve client data preparation, solution configuration, and prototyping to validate requirements.
Answer technical questions, compile RPFs and RFIs and address objections during the sales process, acting as the technical expert in customer meetings.
End to end responsibility: From Sales-to-Delivery
Work closely with Account Executives to support the sales process from qualification through to deal closure.
Coordinate with delivery and product teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to project implementation, including formal handover meetings and documentation.
Provide feedback to product and engineering teams based on customer interactions and market needs
Process and Documentation
Maintain and update pre-sales documentation, including opportunity details, SOWs, and scoping calculators.
Participate in retrospectives and feedback loops to improve pre-sales processes, estimations, and handover quality
Contribute to internal knowledge bases and participate in enablement activities, such as the Partner Academy, to scale best practices across the organization
What You Bring
As this region continues to grow, we're looking for a hands-on Presales Engineer who is comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels. You will support the Sales team in delivering technically robust solutions that drive successful customer outcomes.
2+ years of experience in software development, technical consulting, solution engineering or similar roles.
At least 2 years of client facing experience in a technical sales or consulting role, explaining complex solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
Knowledge of and experience with Generative AI products and LLMs.
Industry experience in Financial Services, Government or Manufacturing is preferred.
Excellent communication and story telling skills, with fluency in English and at least one additional language between German, Italian, French or Spanish are a plus.
A degree in Computer Engineering / Data Science / Machine Learning or related technical discipline.
