Join us, as we continue to expand, grow and innovate, and help take Scandit to the next level.

About the role

Our Platform Engineering (DevOps & SRE) team owns the cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline ecosystem that the entire engineering organisation relies on. As engineering practices evolve, the team continuously looks for ways to improve efficiency and delivery speed — including making thoughtful use of modern tools, such as AI‑assisted workflows, to support clearer planning and faster execution within the team.

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Engineering team. You’ll bring clarity, structure, and predictable execution, while guiding a talented team of DevOps and SRE professionals. You’ll partner closely with product engineering teams, and you’ll embrace modern AI‑enabled tooling and practices to accelerate development and raise engineering effectiveness.

This role also offers room for expanded scope as Scandit grows, including opportunities to take on additional engineering initiatives or teams over time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow your team.
  • Bring structure and clarity to planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Own the operation and continuous improvement of our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Actively drive cross‑team initiatives in areas such as security and compliance (e.g. reducing Snyk vulnerabilities, supporting ISO-related efforts).
  • Strengthen security, reliability, and cost efficiency through disciplined processes, clear ownership, and consistent follow‑through.
  • Establish roadmaps, milestones, and progress reporting (e.g. OKRs) to ensure stakeholders have visibility into plans, risks, and delivery.
  • Proactively collaborate with product and engineering teams to align priorities and successfully deliver shared initiatives.
  • Identify bottlenecks and lead improvements that increase engineering velocity.
  • Take on additional scope and cross‑team leadership as Scandit continues to grow.
  • Who you are
  • A structured, pragmatic engineering leader who brings clarity and predictability to complex work.
  • Strong in project and program management, stakeholder communication, and cross‑functional alignment.
  • Experienced in leading DevOps/SRE or platform teams in a cloud‑native environment (AWS, GCP, GitLab or similar).
  • Comfortable driving cross‑team initiatives and seeing them through to completion (e.g. security or compliance efforts).
  • Able to engage with engineers at all levels and provide broad technical guidance.
  • Experienced in leading distributed teams with strong communication practices.
  • At least 3 years of software engineering experience and 5+ years leading teams.
  • Committed to high‑quality engineering practices and a people‑first leadership style.
